As an affiliated HYROX Partner, we hold exclusive rights to host HYROX classes, training sessions and competitions — as well as offering specialised programming from our certified HYROX Coaches. At Average Joe's, not only can you take your training to the next level, but you will be immersed with a new HYROX community, with the same passion, drive and motivation as you.
Already got a competition in the diary? Strategically prepare by committing to our HYROX training sessions three times per week. Here, we will focus on honing your strength, agility, and endurance, ensuring you're at your peak performance level for the challenge ahead. You can count on us to provide a supportive environment where you can push your limits and refine your HYROX-specific skills and movements.
HYROX combines both running and functional workout stations, where participants run 1km, followed by 1 functional workout station, repeated eight times.
Each race is hosted indoors in expansive exhibition halls, creating an immersive and electrifying race, where your spectators can support you from the very beginning to the very end.
With four different categories, HYROX accommodates both professional athletes, and everyday fitness enthusiasts looking to take their training to the next level. Whether you are looking to take on HYROX by yourself in the Open or Pro category, share the experience with a teammate in the Doubles Categories, or split HYROX four ways in the Team Relay category, there truly is a race for everyone to enjoy.
The HYROX fitness race involves the following movements:
1000m SkiErg
50m Sled Push
50m Sled Pull
80m Burpee Broad Jumps
1000m Rowing
200m Farmers Carry
100 Sandbag Luges
75 or 100 Wall Balls
HYROX has been created as the 'Fitness Race for Every Body', but let’s not forget, it is still a fitness race which requires training and preparation in strength as well as endurance. 8 x 1km of running and 8 functional workouts! The ultimate challenge of your body with natural skills movements tested to the maximum.
With classes running on Tuesday/Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings, we can provide you with the tricks, tips and training you need to help you prepare:
Securing tickets for HYROX events can often be a daunting task, compounded by the hefty expenses of travel. With the foresight to bring the full HYROX experience to the North East we host our own competitions four times a year. This initiative promotes accessibility and inclusivity within the sport, ensuring that the spirit of HYROX thrives right in our backyard!
Ever wondered how you run after pushing a 125kg sled for 50 meters? Or after your heartrate spikes during 80m of Burpee Broad Jumps? It's so important to have exposure to that full race experience before jumping in! Our HYROX competitions allow you to experiment with pace, rhythm and controlling your heart rate, so you're ready to perform at your best.
Are you new to HYROX or not sure which division is right for you? Our HYROX competitions give you the perfect opportunity to find your feet before forking out for one of the larger-scale races. Nobody said a HYROX race would be easy, but remember, HYROX was designed to accommodate all participants and 99% of competitors reach the finish line!
